For the very reason I like her.  She is not part of the Washington power structure...I hope to hell she is not seduced by it.

I agree.  She has one hell of a future.  I don’t think that McCain and Palin will prevail this year.  The anger against Bush and the Republican Party is just too great this year.  It’s like Ford / Carter all over again.

I would like to see her get through this campaign without getting dinged too badly.  No major gaffes or stuff that can be replayed in the future ad nauseum.

The trick is to maintain the spunk and conservative values she has and, like you said, at the same time, prevent her from being infected by the corruption and incompetence of the Bush Administration.  And not screw up fatally on the campaign trail.  No “I knew Margaret Thatcher, Margaret Thatcher was a friend of mine,....” moments.

I never said that Altan...this is the sort of sophistry that precludes trust.

In a speech to Congress, president Woodrow Wilson expressed his opinions by stating, “if there should be disloyalty, it will be dealt with with a firm hand of stern repression” and that disloyal individuals “had sacrificed their rights to civil liberties.” Possible Obama precedent?

I’m sorry if I misunderstood you.  I’m not playing any word games.

You said “the Washington power structure”.  I include the Bush Administration in that group and it’s not a difficult task to demonstrate both incompetence and corruption within the Bush Administration.  It’s hard to avoid it.

Like I said, Bush is a major negative for McCain this year.  They hate each other and I was surprised that Bush even went as far as making a video.  That he didn’t bother to show in person spoke volumes, both he and Cheney.  No one can be in so much denial that they miss what that means.  McCain has to run as some sort of an alternative to Bush or he has zero chance.  Problem is that McCain dovetails with Bush significantly.  That’s the paradox that McCain has to solve.

Can Sarah Palin avoid that paradox??  I hope so for her sake.  I’d like to see her take a shot at the top slot in ‘12.

Oh, I include them as well...but as far as I can see, when you drive your car past that Washington beltway, the stench of all of them is thick enough to choke you.

I would pay to see a Hillary/Palin debate. I expect palin to walk all over babling Biden, the most boring man in Congress.

I think Joe will be on the phone to Obama:  “Barack, about those debates.  Could we maybe swap places?

More like..."Debates! We don’t need no stinkin debates”

wrapper - 05 September 2008 12:47 AM
quote

wrapper, I like your signature “Jesus was a community organizer and Pilate was a governor.” It is clearly part of the new Dem attack “Sarah’s being mean to all those good community organizers”.

By that they imply people who actually are community helpers, who do things to help the needy and sick, like deliver meals, help them go to the toilet or bathe, make their beds, clean their houses.  There are millions of people who provide these services to others, usually as unpaid volunteers.

Now if you have some evidence that in his capacity as community organizer Obama was actually doing those things, making beds, cleaning house, helping people go to the toilet, and without pay, I’ll be impressed.  Lots of luck with that.

In the meantime most of us still haven’t got a clue as to what a community organizer does except that maybe its a bit like a small town mayor but without any responsibilities.

More like, “Al Sharpton was a community organizer...” ‘Community organizer’ in democrat political speak, is either a community shakedown artist like Sharpton, or a fellow like the crooks at Acorn who spend thei days registering illegals and other people who cannot vote and then pass out the ‘walkin around money’ on election day.

You think the bulldog act is going to cut it in a debate??  With Biden??  Very few people on the hill are as knowledgeable on foreign policy.  Think Sarah is going to hang throwing down on the rest of the world??  I don’t.

All she has to do with babbling Biden is let him talk, and talk, and talk. If he doesn’t step into a plagerism trap, he will most assuredly bore the audience to death.

Just a style observation here. Months ago, Altan’s post were normal sized, black type.  Then, Altan developed an interesting style when he discovered that his response, if posted in blue, could be interspersed between comments of PLF posters. Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s a style thing and I am for individuality.  Another example is April-lite, the queen of the caps and the exclamation points.

Folks have been referring to him as Altan, Blue-Boy® and other variations in Blue. Lately, I am noticing that Altan has discovered that he can use the Bold style and increase the size of the font.  I am noticing more posts where Altan appears to be adopting Large Blue Bold Fonts

Interesting.

It’s all part of altards pathetic quest for attention. altards particular form of self-flagellation involves purporting himself to be a Republican but deriding and disparaging anything and anyone not clearly hard left.

Instead of patronizing lefty sites where his anti-Republican notions would be welcome and his pithy but pointless posts would be applauded, he hangs out here where he is the butt of every joke.

Consequently his writing style (if you want to call what he scribbles writing) gets louder as he realizes that no one is listening to him.

Altan Universe, likes color and likes attention and has a nervous tick that is accompanied by nervous (laughter). This is an ingenious smokescreen to distract from the fact that he is an idiot, masquerading as an imbecile, hiding behind the veil of a moron, who cheers on unscrupulous retards.

But other than that he is an ignorant fool whose participation here has no redeeming qualities.

OK, ya just got a laugh out of me...and I haven’t had much to laugh about in a while.

But seriously, the whole blue thing has to do with “red state”, “blue state”...am I right?

The biggest issue with it, is that by moving his commentary among the original posting it is difficult to respond to his points since they are not all in a single area like civil posters here.

You know, I’ve been waiting...and waiting...and waiting for someone here to ask me that question.  Figures it would be you.

(laughter)

No, it has nothing to do with “Red State / Blue State”.  It’s simply for readability.

I wanted to make my responses directed to one’s attention quickly during long “back and forth” discussions with lots of quoting.  Some posts read like diaries after awhile.

I thought coloring my content would make my responses / content stand out and decrease confusion over what content is a new response and/or an old one.  Blue was the first color in the color list that accomplished the task.  Red works well too but initially I didn’t choose it first just because it was further down the list and, after reflection, I decided that red puts an “angry” emphasis I prefer to keep out of content if not necessary.

Most of the other colors present too lightly, in my opinion, although Nano seems to have difficulty reading my copy in blue.  I have no sympathy for Nano on that issue though as he claims to have badass monitors, a claim I’m confident is genuine.
