The more things CHANGE

Blindfolded American hostages being paraded before the public by their Iranian captors, November 5, 1979

Tehran_1979.jpg

On November 4, 1979, radical Iranian students seized the United States Embassy complex in the Iranian capital of Tehran. The immediate cause of this takeover was the anger many Iranians felt over the U.S. President Jimmy Carter allowing the deposed former ruler of Iran, Shah Reza Pahlavi, to enter the U.S. for medical treatment. In Iran, this was believed to be an opening move leading up an American-backed return to power by the Shah. The crisis which followed this seizure created a near state of war, ruined Jimmy Carter’s presidency, and began an environment of hostility between America and Iran which continues to this day.

Phooey. The Powerliners have told us, over and over again, the Carter encouraged the Islamists to take over. Why would they complain about something he did?

OK folks, sit back, relax and enjoy today’s rendition of the Vladimir Estragon two step. Enjoy the smoke, enjoy the mirrors, watch as the subject changes before your very eyes.

yes ladies and gentlemen, its the real deal: Being some days in preparation a splendid time is guaranteed for all.

And of course Vlad has NO cogent response.

Mr Obama: Heed the words of Edmund Burke:

“...[A]sk yourselves this question: Will they be content in such a state of slavery?Reflect how you are to govern a people who think they ought to be free, and think they are not. Your scheme yields no revenue; it yields nothing by discontent, disorder, disobedience: and such is the state of America, that, after wading up to your eyes in blood, you could only end up just where you begun...”

With John Kerry’s swift “defense” of Obama’s foreign policy, my campaign slogan for Obama is getting closer to being adopted.

Obama = The second coming of Jimmy Carter

Bush has found the Left’s achilles’ heel.  That’s the only explanation for the “outrage” on display today.

To the left, history and the facts are irrelevant.  “Good Intentions” mean everything.  Results and reality be damned.  Everything with these people comes down to their “feelings” and their “good intentions”.

For pete’s sake.  Read the words of Neville Chamberlain.  Look at the pictures or the films of him talking.  Then cut to John Kerry, Jimmy Carter, any of these nitwits, and you will see that the words, the looks on their faces, the way they carry themselves; they’re all one in the same.  Appeasement is the mothers milk of the liberal left in western societies.  Always has been, always will be.  Add to that the American left’s race hatred, self hatred, hatred of culture and country, and one can get a pretty good picture of what they’re all about.

I’d love for a leftie to lecture us on what exactly it is that a President Obama will say to Hamas, to Hezbollah, to Iran.  Is there something that the great Messiah could utter, some words of “black wisdom”, that would cause these people to throw up their hands, ignore their own religion, their own history, their own goals and objectives, and come over from the dark side?

Could Messiah Obama impart some of the wisdom of Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrahkan, Malcolm X, or perhaps Michelle Obama, that would make all these people do a 180?

I’m just dying to know.

...and still the libs gloated! They are still unaware of how bad THAT was for the country. Proof: Pushing for the same policy of their next nominee for the Office of President. Ugh!

Bush: “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals”

Some like… Rice and Gates?

Gates said Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down too.

Nothing but a bunch of stinkin’ appeasers in his cabinet.

Harpo: I’m gonna ‘spain it to you one time. Gates said, according to your quote, that we need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk.

It’s all about the leverage.  You can’t make talkie-talkie with terrorists without ”leverage.” Now, I’ll be patient and let you school me on where your messiahbama talked about leverage first

If you don’t have leverage, you are dealing in appeasement.  What did Neville Chamberlain threaten Hitler with? What did Jimmy Carter threaten Hamas with? What did Nancy Pelosi threaten Bashir Assad with?  I’m patiently waiting.

Bush is right on target.  This is the Bush that I like.  I wish it would tell the other Bush to put that Road-Kill Map in the trash and stop trying to pressure Israel to keep appeasing arabs.  (Israel has its own problems getting rid of its appeasal-crazy government, independent of US policy).

He really hit a nerve on the Left with this one.  They’re flailing like the spastics they are ... but all in public, now.

Amen!  Bush is entirely correct.  The left has been, is currently and forever will be weak in the face of evil and it is ingrained in their elitist genes to appease rather than confront.  Obambi really blew this one, instead of laying low, he dove right into the deep water and flailed away gasping for air.  He has no one to blame but himself, but apparently Obamarella saw how well that slipper fit and couldn’t stop putting his foot in it.  I just love it when lefties go nuts, I sure hope they keep it up, it is an indelible reminder to America why the left cannot be trusted in times of external threat.

Excellent!

I will just repeat here what I said on another thread about this.

Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: “Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.” We have an obligation to call this what it is – the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.

Other than the days following 9/11, I don’t know if I have ever been prouder of President Bush than I was today.

I really can’t imagine why anyone is upset with what he said. He was speaking the truth. I believe, that as a country, the American people can handle the truth. It is too bad they aren’t given the truth often.

You can read his entire speech here:
