“People unfit for freedom - who cannot do much with it - are hungry for power. The desire for freedom is an attribute of a ‘have’ type of self. It says: leave me alone and I shall grow, learn, and realize my capacities. The desire for power is basically an attribute of a ‘have not’ type of self.” - Eric Hoffer

Indeed.

Emphasis added by me.

The sky is falling. The sky is falling. Why because according to you America hates itself.

That’s a great campaign slogan. Good luck in the fall.

Poor April.  Poor, poor, insipid, clueless April.

We don’t have to make it a campaign slogan when you have people on your side shouting it from the rooftops for us.

Each side says, America can be better. We tried it Ronnie Reagans way with vodoo economics.

The end result, or the frosting on the cake, disappearing pension funds, stagnent wages, overseas tax shelters, gas at record highs and a war for petrol, where Russia and China are winning. Private contracts paid for with tax payer dollars that produce zilch for America.

Most posts here slam America with some shadowy fear that we might want to help our own people instead of ‘freeing Iraqi’s with American blood and treasure.

While claiming that this is the land the you love you won’t even rub two dimes together to pay for a war that you say is imperative. How pathetic and unpatriotic is that.

Your way doesn’t work. Bush proved it.

Way to veer from the point April.  But that is how you operate, post some bs, get called on it and then try to pretend that you making a different point.

The ugly fact that you are trying to avoid is that your side of the debate is replete with people who actually DO hate America and DO side with terrorists.

But as for the balance of your regurgitation of socialist talking points, our methods may have not been 100% successful, but you deem anything short of that as failure.  Under Reagan we had the longest period of non-war economic prosperity that the nation has ever known, yet because that didn’t cure the ills of every single person in the US, you condemn it.

Well let me clue into something girlie, your ways have been tried and all that came of them was grief and failure, real failure not some conjured up crap like you expouse.  You wail about the poor and the downtrodden, but you way has only increased the amount of people in that condition, not lessened it.

If our country is treating the less fortunate so poorly, why is there so much obesity amongst those we consider poor?  Oh I don’t doubt that there are some who are suffering from not enough to eat, but by and large we have the fattest poor people of any nation on earth.

In the end, the main reason that you propose what you do, is basically you’re pissed off that someone out there is doing better than you.  So rather than making your focus bettering your position, you want to tear down those who are better off than you.  Oh you try to disguise it in lofty ideals, but that is all just so much bullshit.  In the end, you are just a small petty person wallowing in envy.

Blah Blah Blah. Same old same old. You sound bitter.

Call me anti-American, while you spew hate at me about this and that.

What is it about America that you like. It certainly isn’t the people.

All I said was there are loons on both sides.

Republicanism is on the decline.
You obviously need a happier message, besides the trite liberals hate America rant.

April, why are people on the Left obsessed with urine?

You take pride in your ‘clever’ comment?

Proving my point Mr. P. The GOP platform = insulting, mocking and demeaning regular folks. And you think you are gonna win support this way.

Get a message that is something other than 3rd grade potty talk.

Oooooooooooooo, April, you’re scaring me.  But seriously, why are people on the Left so obsessed with urine?

I am assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that you bothered to read the initial post?

One person does not equal people on the left. As I said there are whackos on both sides.

Apparently you are the equivalent whacko right as the kos poster is whacko left.

Nice try, though.

Would you like to see some selections from my extensive collection of right-wing Powerliners whose political commentary always boils down to anal sex between men?

Thanks for the offer, Vlad, but I’ll pass.

“Equivalent Whacko” — that’s kinda catchy.
