Someone on Lucianne.com stated that the Reverend’s new home looks like a Days Inn in Fargo, ND....not that there is anything wrong with Fargo or Days Inn but it is an ugly ass house isn’t it? Well, no one who is not on the Obama popsicle truck has any illusions about him and his pastor and anyone who has listened to Obama’s wife knows exactly how they as a family feel about Rev. Wright’s teachings....they in large part agree.
The interesting thing about this to me is watching the press deal with their tarnished saint. I do not recall who said it, either on MSNBC or CNN, but some *anchor babe*, as Rush would call her, actually said something to the effect that...this is really damaging to him...and it isn’t going away....how do we stop it?
The answer...Tuzla. Hillary has lied about this in more or less terms for years, only recently during the campaign embellishing her lie even more so. No, she wasn’t the first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to visit a war zone. Pat Nixon went with her husband to Viet Nam in 1969. Of course this isn’t even mentioning the heroism of Dolley Madison, Abigail Adams, Martha Washington, and Mary Todd Lincoln who actually LIVED in a war zone… but I digress.
I submit that the Tuzla story would have been totally ignored if it were not for the Reverend Wright story. The media’s darling had been tarnished and they needed to *stop* it. So, the very old story that Hillary had been lying for months if not years about her heroism at Tuzla was a godsend to them and they jumped on it. As a writer for the Wall Street Journal pointed out this week, the ironic thing is that the smartest woman in the world just couldn’t stop lying long enough to keep herself from falling into the hole she dug herself. Thats the thing about compulsive liars (and I suppose compulsives in general)...they cannot stop their compulsive behavior even if it will harm them. I swear I was as shocked at seeing CBS juxtapose the Tuzla footage with Hillary’s own words as I was to see Carly Smithson in the bottom three on American Idol last week.
But, I have to admit, as a way to *stop* the Reverend Wright story from derailing Obama’s campaign, the Tuzla story was as effective as Kristy Lee Cook singing *I’m Proud to be an American* this week, thereby saving her untalented self from elimination for yet one more week.
