I understand plenty and I can see that you’re here spouting deranged gibberish.
I do expect you to make some sense which of late, you’re failing to do.
Posting pictures of Oliver North with a tagline about Adobe Flash Player...and then babbling about how the CIA was responsible for hooking the black community on cocaine because of the war in Nicaragua is pretty wild stuff.
I believe the Yanqui appetite for coke was fed by the Medellin cartel and Pablo Escobar in the 1980’s, not the Nicaraguans.
You can print some conspiracy theory flapdoodle -so called document about the CIA all you want, and EVEN IF IT IS TRUE I don’t recall seeing the news about the guys in black holding down innocent ghetto kids and forcing the crack pipe between their teeth, while holding their nose to get them to inhale. Excuses are worthless.
The real kernel of the agument here is that some people believe that in a free country the individual has to take responsibility for their own actions and future. “The Man” is a convenient excuse for doing nothing. Nothing is easy. If you want to blame the government for something, blame it for trapping the poor (black white or whatever) in a cycle of dependency to create a kept class of democrat voters. That was the true “evil plan” and by the way it was mostly created by Lyndon Johnson (D) Texas. Johnson’s acts drove the black male out of the household by making the government a better provider for the family than he could be; with the printing press to back them up it was no contest. The family was better off provided the man was not there. Do you think that had something to do with the illegitimacy rate soaring to 70% since the 1960’s?
When leaders of their community such as the Rev. Wright instill hatred of others in their followers, what do you think will be the result? Will those congregants be happier with their hate? Will it help them improve their lot in life? Seems doubtful to me. That man and his ilk do a disservice to their flocks. Asking me to be understanding, to excuse this sort of behavior is absurd. Their is such a thing as right and wrong. In this case clearly it is Wright who is wrong.
What does that mean?
And that’s a far cry from accusing the CIA of importing coke into this country specifically to harm black people and acknowledging that the reality might be completely different.
The CIA did not bring coke into this country, from Nicaragua or anywhere else.
They don’t grow coke in Central America--wrong climate.
And if the CIA was down there, they were too busy fighting the Communist Sadinistas to do anything else.
Furthermore, no arm of our government does anything to purposely harm black people: they do not import illegal drugs like coke to harm black people and they didn’t “create” the AIDS virus to harm black people.
The only “force” that has really harmed black people has been the Abortion (on demand) movement and that is led by DemocRats, many of them black themselves and many of them elected by black people.
How many of the 40 million aborted babies in this country were black?
Plenty.
The stated aim of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood was eugenics and more specifically, the engineering of American society by the abortion of black babies.
Google that, my friend and wake up!
“Jen, I am not contending that the CIA was specifically trying to harm black people. What the CIA was specifically doing was trying to fund the Contras. That was accomplished through drug trafficking. That was accomplished through the black community.”
Anglos ...
“Whitey” to you racist Third Worlders, sucks up more cocaine than the “black community” could ever dream of.
The making of cocaine into crack was a black thang - it made it easier to cut (dilute), package, sell, hide, and use.
Jen, I am not contending that the CIA was specifically trying to harm black people.
But you were.
What the CIA was specifically doing was trying to fund the Contras.
Wasn’t that what the Iran-Contra was about?
Col. Oliver North exonerated himself and his men.
I don’t remember any of this drug stuff coming up then.
When in doubt, blame the CIA.
The Left tried to blame the CIA for this vis-a-vis Vietnam and heroin, too.
That was accomplished through drug trafficking. That was accomplished through the black community.
Where’d you get this kook website? Alex Jones?
Of course, folks like you and Rev. Wright are “truthers,” too.
You need to put the crack pipe down and get a life!
What Otis conveniently neglects to mention is the fact that drugs are in his community because people there want to buy them.
What you have neglected to mention is that the desire had to be cultivated in the first place.
What you have neglected to mention is that the black people of those communities do not own the jets and the ships and the trucks that transport the drugs accross the border. You do!
Skip! Who knew you owned a transportation fleet! Way to go, guy!
And that ability to bend minds to your will--awesome, dude.
SojerofGod, that’s an excellent post (#31), and a valiant attempt to get this thread back to rationality. I agree that LBJ arguably had more to do with the degenerate state of the inner cities in America than any other man.
But the preachers spouting crackpot conspiracy theories and indoctrinating their listeners with “hate whitey” propaganda are not helping.
The new Trinity pastor, and Obambi himself refusing to specifically disavow these ridiculous and dangerous accusations that Wright flings about so enthusiastically, lead us to only one conclusion:
The new guy, and Obambi himself, believe they are true.
If you want a man who believes this crap becoming President of the United States, then vote for Obambi. Me, I’m running as fast as I can from this sanctimonious fraud.

Buell, that’s what I thought!
Jets, ships, trucks--man, I sure am rich now!
ROFL!!!
Still trying to get the thread off the topic of the anti-americanism, pro-terrorist diatribes of Obama’s pastor’s by trolling your incredibly incoherent excuses and accusations, I see. Well, if actually defending Hussein doesn’t work.....
This sort of thread reminds me of the dogs of two of my neighbors. Every morning they greet each other with 15 minutes or so of barking and growling thru the fence. Must get their blood going or something. Pretty harmless I guess. But the invective that gets hurled across the left-right divide here at PL sure doesn’t help ease race relations. Conservatives are supposed to be the grownups in this society.
Look I want McCain to win and Obama to lose. But if McCain does win, one of his first acts has to be reaching across the racial divide that is being deepened right now. It’s an opportunity.

The best news is that after seeing Obama in action and having experienced/seen Clinton in action, McCain is looking better and better.
Going forward, the best would be more people taking the step that identity politics--racial or otherwise--conflated with victim status is harmful both the the individuals suckered into identity politics and the body politic at large. The more blacks (a group rapidly becoming undefined as Africans, S/Central Americans, and SW Asians enter the country) leave victim politics behind the more insigificant the racial divide becomes. I don’t think that will happen soon--too many people are economically and emotionally invested in the victim status to see it end soon. Resolution will probably be a generational thing.
Do disadvantaged individuals need preferences to resolve historic discrimination? Does even societal discrimination result in economic disadvantage?
Thomas Sowell proved years ago in a cross-cultural study that discrimination--as long as it is not backed up by government coercion (read: men with guns enforce the discriminatory laws), discrimination had little or no effect on economic status. Another proof for that notion is our own quota/preference laws for Blacks and Indians. Despite (or maybe because of) racial preference laws, economic progress has been painfully slow for americans with slavery heritage, particularly since the advent of those preference laws called affirmative action.
As long as the country insanely pursues policies proven not only to work but to exacerbate the situation we will have this “racial divide”. McCain is not the man to repair it. But at least he is not the man to increase it.
But the invective that gets hurled across the left-right divide here at PL sure doesn’t help ease race relations.
Our race relations as a country are fine, thanks, no matter what you, Obama and Rev. Wright think.
Conservatives are supposed to be the grownups in this society.
We are the grownups!
That’s why we won’t elect someone that tells black people to keep playing the victim while childishly painting white people as their “persecutors.”
It’s un-American and it’s just plain not true.
Look I want McCain to win and Obama to lose. But if McCain does win, one of his first acts has to be reaching across the racial divide that is being deepened right now. It’s an opportunity.
McCain should just keep doing what he’s doing--being himself.
There is no “racial divide:” we’re all Americans with equal rights under the law.
If anyone deepened any “racial divide,” it’s Obama.
If I thought he spoke for all black people, I might care, but I know that he doesn’t.
