Bobby has his work cut out for him. Re: the corruption problem...good luck. Still, if he can do it (and he may be the only person smart enough to do it) it will be an astounding accomplishment...unparalleled in Louisiana’s long, dark and twisted history.
And then, who knows? Brilliance of that nature needs to be visited up the nation as a whole ASAP.
Good luck and Godspeed Governor elect Jindal.

Well, he was elected on an anti-corruption platform and he won convincingly. That should get him some momentum.
If he picked the most liberal rules of conduct for the state legislators from the other 49 states and implemented them in Louisiana, it’d still be a HUGE improvement. And it’d be embarrassing for the Democrats to vote against.

I have been reading about Bobby Jindal for quite some time over at Michelle Malkin’s site. I am thrilled that he won. Now, if they can get rid of a few more of their politicians, maybe the state can make a comeback.
I’ve never heard of this guy. Some of the libs are saying he’s a Democrat in Republican clothing...what does Michelle say about him??

I think what it comes down to is that Katrina was a clusterfrag and Blanco’s number was consequently up.
Jindal seems to be pretty moderate as Republicans go; if he’ll be as RINO as Ahnold, time will tell, though I doubt he’ll be a de facto Democrat.
Still, this is likely to be the only major victory Republicans are likely to see between now and 2010, so they should live it up while they can. :)

Never heard of Jindal ? Where were you during the last LA governor’s election ? In a cave ?
It was not only national news, it was international news. He got beat out in the run-off, IIRC.

Jindal is not a RINO. He is very conservative.

Clearly you don’t know much about Louisiana politics in general and about Bobby Jindal in particular.

Not at all… I don’t think it’s going to significantly impact the rest of the nation either way.

Of course you don’t. And the surge isn’t working either, poltroon.

Just as the most common phrase before dying is “oh s@#t!”, the most common phrase from either party before getting their @$$ kicked in an election is “I don’t think it’s going to significantly impact the rest of the nation either way.”
