Well, here’s a liberal who thinks Sanchez should shut up and go away. Either he knew the operation was failing but kept up the cheerful talk as long as he was in charge, or he’s just whining in hindsight.

Tough to disagree with that.

I’m not sure I see a single reference in that particular speech about “the left” or “the media.”

Uh, did you skip the first part of his speech?  You know, it is on the front page of this thread…

Wow.

I remember 2002/2003 well. Everyone including our enemies was acknowledging that Iraq had WMDs… Everyone.

Well, that’s the thing. The U.N. inspectors went into Iraq, went to the places that the intelligence sources around the world had told them to look, and found nothing. Yet even though this proved that the WMD intelligence was wrong or at least highly suspect, the MSM continued to report as if there was no question of Iraq WMDs.

Since no one has pointed this out yet I guess I will.  The inspectors mission in Iraq was to VERIFY SADDAM’S WMD PROGRAMS WERE DISMANTLED.  It was not to find out if he had any.  He had already admitted he had them.  Then he played the shell game.  I am still concerned about those very WMDs.  He admitted to having them and could not prove he destroyed them.  Where did they go?  Did he in fact destroy them and not document it so he could play both sides?  Or are they in Syria?  Or buried in the desert?

Oh, and let’s not forget, we have found many WMDs in Iraq - just not the huge stockpiles we were told about.

More traitors--army captains.  Time to start the right-wing slime machine!

From the WaPo:

“Five years on, the Iraq war is as undermanned and under-resourced as it was from the start. And, five years on, Iraq is in shambles.

As Army captains who served in Baghdad and beyond, we’ve seen the corruption and the sectarian division. We understand what it’s like to be stretched too thin. And we know when it’s time to get out.”

Right here.

C’mon, Jen the neocon:  start typing!

Sophie… FYI—The only group who has called any soldiers traitors is liberals…

Here Sophie, here’s another site operated largely by Iraq veterans. Caution: Their opinions don’t support your story line: http://www.moveamericaforward.org/

This is the second thread on which you’ve made this same post.
Guess what, “sophie,” I don’t obey your commands!
These so-called Army captains are Useful Idiots of the Left whom the WashedUpPost has found to be their next attack dogs of the Bush Administration.
They’re entitled to their opinion and that’s all.
They’re not Petraeus and they’re not running the war.
Their main “solution” to the war in Iraq is to institute the draft, which has been the classic fall-back answer of the Left to make Iraq more like Vietnam.
They should get together with Charlie Rangel: they’d have lots to talk about.

Might I add that for them to have their personal views published and for the WashedUpPost to print them is unconscionable in wartime, especially when we’re clearly winning--this just proves Sanchez’s whole rant on the Media.
Opinion pieces like this, published by the Leftist press as “news,” is defeatist and going to get American soldiers killed and hurt.
But it won’t lose us the war, as they wish.
