So am I suppose to feel sorry for CNN or Michael Moore?

LOL.

It reminds me of the Rosie O’Donnell/Donald Trump retard-spat.

I sit back and laugh at both of them.

Michael Moore has bought into his own hype. He thinks he’s king of whatever little domain he envisions himself king of, and believes that people are on pins and needles awaiting his uterrances with bated breath. He believes that enough people adore him so that he can lie and manipulate, and that when other people call him on it, he can feign outrage to avoid accountability, and his minions will cover for him.

People like this self-destruct, like Bill Clinton did a few months ago with Chris Wallace - Like Rosie O’Donnell did several weeks ago with Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Unfortunately, the liberal machine does not hold liberals accountable for their self-destructive outbursts. Only when conservatives lose their tempers, will the media grip like a pit-bull until the person’s life and/or reputation are destroyed.

“A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation.

To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means.”

I’m sure Madeline Albright would be happy to claim Michael Moore as her son.  If ever there was a face only a mother could love.

Q. What’s the difference between Michael Moore and a one ton CARE package?
A. Michael Moore, if sliced real thin, can feed a larger Afghan village.

Michael Moore’s New Film Exposed!

Academy Award-wining documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is causing a stir again with his latest expose By a Thread – Buttons Unbuttoned: the Truth behind Buttons.

Moore is aiming to garner some long overdue attention for an all too familiar, yet rarely addressed problem in Western (and increasingly global) society – the plight of the common button.

“People rarely acknowledge them at all. They give them no thought at all until they’re gone,” Moore was recently quoted as saying in Cannes. “Then when one pops off, it becomes the most urgent matter in their lives.”

Moore continues to say that the often included “extra button” (usually attached to the inside of the garment as a replacement) is commonly employed as a solution, leaving the original first-string button lost and forgotten forever.

When asked about whether moviegoers will be handed answers as to what may cause the loss and marginalization of so many buttons Moore says, “Oh God yes. There are causes, definite causes – alcohol being the major contributing factor.”

Moore’s research claims that as many as 59% of all lost buttons come off due to alcohol-related mishaps, with another 21% being sports-related, and the remaining 20% categorized as miscellaneous.

When asked by a reporter whether that remaining 20% could be attributed to fatness and the pressure caused by growing waistlines, Moore hesitated. “That really is a slippery slope I just don’t think we want to go down right now. Especially with current conditions the way they are.”

Moore is quickly becoming a fat caricature of himself.

A good example of that would be ... Zell Miller.

In the run-up to the 2000 election, James Carville and Paul Begala wrote this in the Washington Monthly:

By choosing former Georgia governor Zell Miller as his running mate, Al Gore could add intellectual brainpower, rhetorical firepower, and lots of plain old populist piss-and-vinegar to this staid election.

...

Lest you think this New Democrat is nothing more than an old Republican, you should know that Zell Miller devoted a year of his governorship to the battle to remove the racist symbol of segregation from the Georgia state flag.

Here again, the contrast would be terrific. Juxtapose the footage of Bush sucking up to the racists in South Carolina, bowing and scraping at Bob Jones University, with images of Miller standing strong against the bigots.

...

Zell Miller is also a world-class campaigner and orator. His keynote address to the 1992 Democratic convention ranks with Barbara Jordan’s and Mario Cuomo’s as one of the finest examples of powerful rhetoric and partisan passion.

At a time when politics seems moribund, Zell would bring energy. When people are looking for heroes, Zell’s the real thing. And when Democrats need someone who’s not afraid to open up a can of whupass on the radical right, they need look no further than Zell Miller.

Weeeell, what do ya know ... Just a few years later, in reaction to Mr. Miller’s speech at the 2004 Republican convention, this is what the Liberals had to say about their ole “piss-and-vinegar” pal:

Matthew Yglesias:

Watching that speech from inside the hall, I was genuinely afraid at one or two points. The audience was so enthused by his frankly fascistic remarks that at any moment I thought the distinguished Senator might point up and say “see, there, right there is one of these unpatriotic liberal journalists busy abusing the freedoms our soldiers fight to protect—he must be destroyed for the safety of the Republican” and that Matt Welch and I would need to fend for our lives against the onrushing hordes.

Of course it didn’t quite come to that, but I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a more disgusting speech delivered in the English language. The fact that I couldn’t see a single person on the floor who seemed to feel anything less than the utmost enthusiasm for that lunacy was, well, a bit disturbing.”

Jonathan Cohn, in the New Republic:

It was one of the most vile political speeches in recent American history, every bit as offensive as Pat Buchanan’s infamous call in 1992 for “religious war” and, perhaps, a little more disturbing. Buchanan’s speech, after all, was an assault on decency. Last night Miller declared war on democracy.

Kevin Drum, on his “Political Animal” blog in Washington Monthly:

A BRIEF MESSAGE....We’re all about civil discourse here at Political Animal, but what else can you say to Zell Miller except....

#### you, Zell.

“Thumb", a poster on the aforementioned Kevin Drum blog:

Zell’s speech reads better in the original German.

MM grew up in a suburb of Flint, which is about 40 miles from where I live.

He wears a hat bearing the “S” of my alma mater, Michigan State, and he never smelled campus. He claims to have went to UM-Flint, but I don’t think he ever graduated.

But alas, this is blue America, run by the UAW, NEA, dhimmicrat party coalition. We have a Canadian ex-pat lawyer for a governor, Levin and Stabenow are our senators; this is the home of John Conyers, the University of Michigan, the President of which I think after long deliberation has decided not to break the law and discriminate admissions on the basis of race, but I can’t be sure of that.

The people are complaining because the republicans are blocking tax increases, but very few “tithe” to the state government. It is from this political atmosphere that the likes of Michael Moore emanate. He is greatly respected as a journalist and film maker by the academic communities of all our institutions of higher education, save Hillsdale College, yes THAT Hillsdale College, and maybe Northwood Institute.

I loathe Michael Moore, and everything he stands for and does. His mother is to be cursed incessantly for not doing her ideological duty and providing death with dignity to fetus Michael.

Actually, I think Moore is finally on to something.  It’s the kernel of an idea anyway.  Some brave soul, with tons of financial clout, should put together a weekly program called “Revelations” or something like that.  The program would be dedicated to unearthing and reporting bias and outright lies in Broadcast news shows.  An hour show with 10, 4.5 minute exposes of ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, Fox, CNN, etc.  There should be no shortage of material.

There isn’t any shortage, as you say. And valid criticism is readily found. Powerline. MRC.org. Etc.

No apologies necessary.  This topic is important enough for its own FORUM, let alone a thread.  I grew up in a place with “free” health care, and the fact that so many of my fellow Americans are willing to be led in that direction is simply mindboggling to me.

CNN has responded to Michael Moore…

In response to a letter Michael Moore wrote about CNN’s reporting on his documentary “SiCKO,” a CNN spokesperson released the following statement:

“It’s ironic that someone who has made a career out of holding powerful interests accountable is so sensitive to having his own work held up to the light by impartial journalists, as we did in our examination of ‘SiCKO,’ “ the spokesperson said.

“In our original report, we made one mistake, which we apologized for and corrected on air and online six days ago, despite Mr. Moore’s claim yesterday in his letter to us. Further, the e-mail Mr. Moore released in an effort to cast doubt on our reporting does no such thing.

“We appreciate Mr. Moore’s attention to the important subject of health care and have featured him on CNN four times to discuss his movie and our reporting on it. While Mr. Moore may want to continue the discussion in order to drive publicity to his movie, we have presented the facts and are comfortable letting the viewers judge for themselves.

“We have zero vested interest in shading the numbers to tell a certain story. Suggesting otherwise, of Dr. Gupta or of CNN, just doesn’t hold water,” the spokesperson concluded.

CNN has always prided itself on balanced reporting of claims made by special-interest groups. Moore’s documentary “SiCKO,” which makes an impassioned case for a complete overhaul of the U.S. health care

You can read the rest here. It is quite long.

http://tinyurl.com/2s94no

I’m not trusting any of this.  Did Moore and CNN stage a fall out to repair CNN’s image as the “liberal” media outlet in an effort to woo more independents and conservatives to CNN and away from FOX?  I can absolutely see Moore agreeing to be the fallout guy for this scenario.  It’s a win-win for both.
