Unfortunately, the Bush administration is slowly, but very surely, turning their backs on Israel. This can be seen in many recent comments and events, but none quite as disturbing as with how Condi Rice has been pushing Israel into what I would consider Armageddon. The Palestinians will never accept a co-existence with Israel. Their belief and their intent is to occupy the entire area and to push the people of Israel into the sea. Given Obama’s anti-Israel rhetoric, I pray that he does not become the next President of the United States. Israel deserves better, as does the United States.
That was a close one. Power Line went almost a week without bashing Bush and Rice for not performing a miracle and curing the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.
“Unprincipled” is criticizing without offering a solution - you know - like how you PL guys treat the Dems every day of the week.
I have always thought that the U.S. has and should continue to pursue its own interests. One of our interests is having an Allied (Israeli) military in the Middle East that is powerful enough to be a big stick, and another is to make it politically possible for our Arab allies to remain our allies. This requires a lot of juggling and a lot of lip service and who knows what behind the scenes.
While I may from time to time get as frustrated as anyone else, I am not prepared to second guess.
