This happens in prisons all across America every day of the week - you just don’t hear about it.

Prison “time computation” units are damn near impossible to predict - ONLY because of the incompetent human factor.

THIS couldn’t happen to a better POS than Soliah.
If I had MY way, she’d be sloppin’ hogs on the prison farm until the day her miserable life ends.

This story is almost enough to give you warm feelings about bureaucratic incompetence: Kathleen Soliah (aka Sara Jane Olson) <a href="http://www.s

UPDATE: One more thing. A vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is a vote to put these people in charge of your health care.

Isn’t the Governor of California a Republican? Also according to this article:

http://www.allbusiness.com/government/3659679-1.html

All the responsible parties to this were appointed by a Republican.

I guess this is what happens when a Republican is in charge.

Are you absolutely certain that El Señor won’t reach across the aisle on health care?  That’s just the sort of issue that brings the Liberal out in him.

Isn’t that like being technically pregnant.

If a statement such as “put these people in charge of your health care.” is made it follows that who investigate who “these people” are, it turns out that “these people” are or is a republican.

You can’t blame the Democrats for the actions of a Republican governor, that’s just idiotic.

It doesn’t matter if they’re Republican, Democrat or Martian; it’s government:  stupidly bureaucratic, slow, mistake-ridden and unaccountable.

The only thing it does halfway well is the military, and that’s because of the people themselves, not the bureaucrats.  We’d all be better off if all governments attempted less and did it better.

No, pay attention:

A vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is a vote to put these people in charge of your health care.

The statement makes no sense seeing as it was a Republican who appointed these people.

A proper corrected statement would replace Obama and Hilary with McCain, then it would be true.

Also:

Scott Kernan, the agency’s chief deputy secretary of adult operations began his career with the California Department of Corrections in 1988 as a correctional officer. Kernan most recently served at Mule Creek State Prison as acting warden and previously as chief deputy warden. Prior to that, he spent eight years serving in various roles at the California Medical Facility including: public information and employee relations officer; correctional captain; and facility captain. Kernan is a Republican.

And yet somehow voting for Hilary or Obama would allow inept Republicans to be appointed to offices they can’t be trusted to run properly.

No, you pay attention.

McCain isn’t threatening to nationalize our medical-treatment delivery system; the others are.

That said, I don’t care what party they’re in and neither should you.

I don’t want any friggin government with its genetic dysfunction any more involved in medicine than it already is.

EDIT:  And Harry, when you edit your post in a major way, it’s proper form to acknowledge you’ve done so.

Yeah I guess adding information is kinda editing (nothing was removed), sorry.

However, you are trying to change the subject. The quote again is:

UPDATE: One more thing. A vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is a vote to put these people in charge of your health care.

This in relation to the ineptness of californian officials releasing this person early. The official in question is a republican appointed by a republican governor.

“these people” are republican’s what do Hilary or Obama have to do with it?

<chuckle>

As one who has worked in the criminal justice system AND corrections lo these past 3 decades, it is clear to me that Harry has NO clue how the system works.

California can’t hire enough prison guards - even though they pay TOP dollar.  IF you ARE hired, and stick around long enough, you’ll eventually rise up through the ranks - maybe even achieving your GED along the way.

“Corrections”, in California and elsewhere, is an incestuous, good old boy network that rewards mediocrity.  Trying to break through that barred ceiling for an “outsider” is damn near impossible.  Thus, mediocrity is its own reward - it keeps the smarter and better educated out of the ranks of professionals who don’t have the time or desire to begin at the bottom rung.

I guarandamnteeya if you were to ask any employee of a prison time computation unit in any state that still has parole (or in her case the sentencing guidelines in effect at the times of her crimes) just how much time any given inmate will actually serve - you will get as many answers as peopple you ask.

Been there, done that.

And IF Ahnold BlackNígger is a “Republican”, I must be a Democrat.

Jeezz for the party of responsibility you guys sure don’t like taking responsibility for anything.

Again, how does the ineptness of a department, run by a republican, who was appointed by a republican, prove anything but the ineptness of republicans?

Please explain to me how it is that when republican’s screw up, it’s the democrats fault.

I’m explaining; listen:  it. doesn’t. matter. which. party.

Ok, the Republicans (these are lower-level government people appointed by Republicans, right?) don’t usually run things - at that level - any better than the Democrats.  Get it?

It’s all governmental inefficiency and idiot bureaucrats; R, D, it doesn’t matter.

The segue about the “healthcare” issue is contained here:

Republicans WILL NOT be able to run “universal health care” any better than Democrats because of, again, govermental inefficiency and idiot bureaucrats.  The only difference is Republicans are not promising to do it, the Democrats are.

Does that clear things up?

Well if they didn’t appoint Republican’s to run it, who would screw things up (like in this case) I don’t see an issue. Really all this story is about, is how Republican’s can’t be trusted to run anything properly. Thank god the Democrats might win in 08.
