WASHINGTON - White House hopeful Barack Obama suggests he would have left his Chicago church had his longtime pastor, whose fiery anti-American comments about U.S. foreign policy and race relations threatened Obama’s campaign, not stepped down.
“Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying at the church,” Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, “The View.” The interview will be broadcast Friday. Yeah, exactly what I said after his awesomely spectacular speech: he didn’t distance himself sufficiently from Wright to keep from having to do it again when more dirt surfaces.
His denial this time don’t begin to make any sense because Wright’s offensive statements which Obama is supposedly distancing himself from and Wright’s impending retirement were years apart.

Obami is proving himself to be just another typical lying POS Dem.
Special Report tonight showed the new 1.6 million dollar, 10,000 Sq foot home on a $340,000.00 lot that the church is building Reverend Rage to retire in. Turns out the Raging Rev is just another one of your typical, run of the mill, hypocritical leftist’s.

Obama, can you try that with fewer “had"s and more “is"s (ask Bill Clinton what it means)?
Anyway, I smell a weasel. “I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying” isn’t the same as “I would have jumped up, grabbed my kids, and gotten the hell out.”
That would be plain-speak, Miss Orange. You know Barack does not indulge in that. He has to employ his Ivy-league razzle-dazzle to keep his audience enthralled.
